Andrew joined the lab in Potsdam for a 6-week practical on CRISPR/Cas9-mediated plant genome engineering. The project covers the design and delivery of CRISPR/Cas9 constructs to achieve targeted deletion in Arabidopsis, selection of edited lines, and seed-selection using fluorescent reporters such as mCherry, shown here marking successfully transformed seed. The hands-on training builds on the lab’s ongoing work at the interface of RNA biology, gene expression, and epigenomics, and strengthens our capacity for precise genome engineering approaches across projects.
